Hello fellow writers, readers, and music lovers, and welcome to my revamped author website and blog. After several months of designing and fiddling around with it, I’m thrilled to finally have a space to feature blog posts and updates about my books and current projects.
I’m super excited to start blogging about my new project, A Deadly Melody, and can’t wait to share some insight into the story, setting, and characters. I’ve also started a monthly newsletter (sign up here ) featuring book news, novel playlists, and sneak peeks into exclusive and early content.
In the upcoming months, I plan to use this space to blog on a variety of topics ranging from music posts to draft updates to book reviews, novel inspiration, events, local bookish stops, and maybe a fun craft post or two. I’ll also be adding a few old posts from my now defunct wordpress.org and blogspot blogs. These were written many years ago, when I first started my writing journey, but I think they offer an interesting glimpse into my author journey.
What’s up next for me and for the rest of 2020?
Drafting, for the most part. I’ll be focusing on the first draft of A Deadly Melody over the next couple of months and then will hopefully begin editing late fall. I’m doing as much outlining as I can in July, which will be my Camp NaNoWriMo project, so I’ll be able to jump in with both feet this August with a solid understanding of the story and characters.
Since this is the beginning of a new series, I need to have as much outlined as possible. I am definitely not a pantser! I work a full-time job, so I mostly write/draft/edit on the weekends. I’m hoping to change that over the rest of the year by setting daily writing goals. Then, before we know it, it will be holiday time and the start of the new year. I’m sure the rest of 2020 will be a wild ride!
