Welcome to Day 19 of the Blogging from A-Z Challenge. Just a quick introduction: my name is Elissa Kane, and I am an indie author working on my first mystery novel, A Deadly Melody, which is book 1 of the Fallen Rockstar series.

If you want to find out why I chose this theme, please check out my Blogging from A-Z Challenge theme reveal post.
Now, onto the letter S. . .

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart
The Wilson sisters joined Roger Fisher, Howard Leese, Steve Fossen, and Mike Derosier in the mid-’70s and formed the hard rock band, Heart. The combination of Ann’s powerful voice and Nancy’s rocking guitar propelled Heart into one of America’s most successful rock bands.
Over their five-decade history, Heart released sixteen albums, including their debut album Dreamboat Annie and their highly successful ’80s comeback album, Heart.
According to Wikipedia, “to date, Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide,[2] including over 22.5 million in album sales in the U.S. They have had top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2010s.[3] The group was ranked number 57 on VH1‘s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock“. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013″.
With the emergence of MTV, Heart became a staple on the music network. Because of Ann’s struggle with her weight, Heart’s record company executives began using camera angles and clothes to minimize her size. More and more focus was put on the more slender Nancy. As a result of the negative publicity surrounding her weight, Ann suffered from stress-related panic attacks.
Thank goodness video didn’t kill the radio star, and Heart endured and rocked on for another two decades.
Ann & Nancy Wilson on A Deadly Melody playlist
I love Heart, so there are quite a few songs of their hits that pop up on my A Deadly Melody playlist and throughout the entire Fallen Rockstar series. “Barracuda”, “Magic Man”, “Crazy on You”, “Wild Child”, “Never”, “What About Love?”, “Bad Animals”, “RSVP”, and “If Looks Could Kill” are all included on my novel playlist.
