Welcome to Day 12 of the Blogging from A-Z Challenge. Just a quick introduction: my name is Elissa Kane, and I am an indie author working on my first mystery novel, A Deadly Melody, which is book 1 of the Fallen Rockstar series.

If you want to find out why I chose this theme, please check out my Blogging from A-Z Challenge theme reveal post.
Now, onto the letter L. . .
Amy Lee of Evanescence

Amy Lee is one my absolutely favorite singers and songwriters. As a classically trained pianist, she combines piano with a heavy, gothic rock sound that make her songs hauntingly beautiful. I can’t say enough about how much I love her voice, lyrics, and melodies.
Amy co-founded Evanescence with guitarist Ben Moody in 1995. They released their first full length album, Fallen in 2003 and were launched into superstardom. Fallen has sold over 17 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Rock Performance.
In 2003, Ben left the band, but Amy and Evanescence have continued and released three more albums that have spawned such hits as “Call Me When You’re Sober”, “Lacrymosa”, “What You Want”, and “Hi-Lo.”
Amy Lee/Evanescence on A Deadly Melody playlist
Amy Lee and Evanescence are all over my A Deadly Melody playlist and the entire Fallen Rockstar series. Almost every song that Evanescence has recorded can be found somewhere on my Fallen Rockstar series playlists. Some of the songs that can be found on my A Deadly Melody playlist are “Going Under”, “Lithium”, “Lacrymosa”, “The Only One”, “Your Star”, “My Heart is Broken”, “Made of Stone”, “The End of the Dream”, “A New Way to Bleed”, “Never Go Back”, and “Call Me When You’re Sober.”
Amy is also a huge inspiration for my main character, Elle. Her solo songs “Speak to Me” and “Love Exists” and “Broken” that she performed with Seether are important songs to Elle.
