2019 Blogging From A-Z Challenge: K is for Kerli

Welcome to Day 11 of the Blogging from A-Z Challenge. Just a quick introduction: my name is Elissa Kane, and I am an indie author working on my first mystery novel, A Deadly Melody, which is book 1 of the Fallen Rockstar series.

If you want to find out why I chose this theme, please check out my Blogging from A-Z Challenge theme reveal post.

Now, onto the letter K. . .

Kerli

Born in Elva, Estonia, Kerli Koiv is a singer and songwriter who started out in Alternative Rock but quickly moved into a more electronic and dance-influenced sound. Personally, I prefer her rock sound, as I am not a fan of electronic/dance music.

She released her debut studio album, Love is Dead in 2008 and it debuted at number 126 on the Billboard 200 chart. The lead single, “Walking on Air,” was featured as the iTunes Store’s Single of the Week and broke a record by being downloaded over 500,000 times. She released her second studio album, Utopia, in 2013. It too debuted on the Billboard 200.

Kerli’s songs have been featured in several movies. “Tea Party” was featured on the album for the movie, Almost Alice, and her song “I Feel Immortal” was released on the Frankenweenie Unleashed! Soundtrack.

Kerli on A Deadly Melody playlist

Songs from Kerli’s first album Love is Dead is what you will find on A Deadly Melody playlist. Her unique voice and funky Alternative beat is what drew me to her sound. “Love is Dead”, “Walking On Air”, and “Bulletproof” can all be found on the playlist.
