2019 Blogging From A-Z Challenge: H is for Lzzy Hale

Welcome to Day 8 of the Blogging from A-Z Challenge. Just a quick introduction: my name is Elissa Kane, and I am an indie author working on my first mystery novel, A Deadly Melody, which is book 1 of the Fallen Rockstar series.

If you want to find out why I chose this theme, please check out my Blogging from A-Z Challenge theme reveal post.

Now, onto the letter H. . .

Lzzy Hale of Halestorm

Lzzy Hale is one of my absolutely favorite female rockers. She is the lead singer of the hard rock band Halestorm that she co-founded in 1997 with her brother and drummer Arejay Hale. She has the look, voice, and attitude of a rocker. And I love it!

One very interesting fact about Halestorm is they are well known for their near non-stop touring, often performing as many as 250 shows a year. Since 2006 they have toured with many hard rock and heavy metal female fronted bands including  In This Moment, Evanescence, The Pretty Reckless, Dorothy, Lita Ford, New Years Day, and Stitched Up Heart. Thanks, Wikipedia.

In their 10 years of rocking, Halestorm has released four studio albums, and they won their first Grammy in 2012 for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for their song “Love Bites (So Do I).”

Lzzy Hale on A Deadly Melody playlist

Halestorm is a huge inspiration for my main character, Elle and my entire Fallen Rockstar series. Just a few of the songs that can be found on my A Deadly Melody playlist are “Rock Show”, “Mz. Hyde”, “Beautiful With You”, “Black Vultures”, “White Dress”, “Scream”, “Amen”, “Daughters of Darkness”, “I’m Not An Angel”, and a very important novel song “The Reckoning” are all on the A Deadly Melody playlist.

But it is the song, “Familiar Taste of Poison” that might be the most important song on my A Deadly Melody playlist.

“Familiar Taste of Poison” is another one of those song/video combos, like Lacuna Coil’s “End of Time” that has really inspired Elle, my novel, and my entire series. It is also one of my Top 10 favorite songs of all-time. I just love it!

Love her!!! I learned about Hale when she did a collab with the violinist Lindsey Stirling in “Shatter Me.” Still on my playlist. Great rocker! – Dragons & Spaceships
