Welcome to Day 5 of the Blogging from A-Z Challenge. Just a quick introduction: my name is Elissa Kane, and I am an indie author working on my first mystery novel, A Deadly Melody, which is book 1 of the Fallen Rockstar series.

If you want to find out why I chose this theme, please check out my Blogging from A-Z Challenge theme reveal post.
Now, onto the letter E. . .
Melissa Etheridge

I love how rock has so many different variations of itself. So far, we’ve covered pop rock, classic rock, goth rock, and Christian rock. Today, it is folk rock’s turn.
Melissa Lou Etheridge is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who has been performing for over 30 years. Melissa released her first album in 1988 and has since won two Grammy Awards, received fifteen Grammy Award nominations, won an Academy Award, and has star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Pretty amazing!
A couple of years ago, I was fortunate to have been able to see Melissa Etheridge in concert with Pat Benatar. She put on a great show, and what made it even better was I got upgraded from the back of the venue to the front. I even made it into her selfie!

Melissa Etheridge on A Deadly Melody playlist
A few Melissa Etheridge songs are scattered on my A Deadly Melody playlist and throughout the entire Fallen Rockstar series. “Bring Me Some Water”, “I Want To Come Over”, and “Like The Way I Do” are the songs that are included on my novel playlist.
My favorite of Melissa’s songs is “Bring Me Some Water.” Years ago, she did a live version with Joan Osborne that is amazing! That version appears on both my novel playlist and my personal playlist. It is one of my favorite duets.

I’ve never really listened to much Melissa Etheridge. You’ve made me want to. I know what I’ll be listening to when I clean the house later!
