Welcome to Day 2 of the Blogging from A-Z Challenge. Just a quick introduction: my name is Elissa Kane, and I am an indie author working on my first mystery novel, A Deadly Melody, which is book 1 of the Fallen Rockstar series.

If you want to find out why I chose this theme, please check out my Blogging from A-Z Challenge theme reveal post.
Now, onto the letter B. . .
This was a pretty easy letter for me. This artist has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid growing up in the ’80s.
Born Patricia Mae Andrzejewski, this female rocker stands just 5’0″, but has a voice that can knock over any 6’0″ man. I’m of course talking about Pat Benatar!

Pat Benatar
Pat Benatar is a classically trained singer, who started out singing with a lounge band in 1973 and by 1978 was signed to Chrysalis Records. In 1979, she and her band, which featured guitarist Neil Girardo who would later become her husband, released the album In the Heat of the Night. This album spawned one of her most beloved songs: “Heartbreaker.”
Over her 40-year career, Pat is a four-time Grammy award winner, has two RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums, five platinum albums, three gold albums, and 15 Billboard Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits “Hit Me with Your Best Shot”, “Love Is a Battlefield”, “We Belong”, and “Invincible.”
Pat Benatar on A Deadly Melody playlist
Several Pat Benatar songs pop up on my A Deadly Melody playlist and throughout the entire Fallen Rockstar series. My main character, Elle, has always counted Pat Benatar as one of her music idols. “In These Times”, “Love is a Battlefield”, “Invincible”, “Shadows of the Night”, and “You Better Run” are a few songs that are included on my novel playlist.
One of my favorite songs, “Hell is For Children” didn’t make it onto this playlist, but is played quite a bit is on my personal playlist.
I had the opportunity to see Pat Benatar a few years ago when she came to town along with Melissa Etheridge. Both women are amazing in concert!
What was also amazing about that specific concert was that I was upgraded to a sixth row, center seat completely for free! Sometimes it pays to go to a concert as a single ticket. I had a blast!
Missed a day? Check out the entire A-Z Challenge list, here.
Benatar was my first female rocker. Love is a battlefield was a part of my growing up and still takes me back. I just had to share that. Great list so far can’t wait to hear more. – Dragons & Spaceships
